Enter your contact details on the You screen.
a) Enter your name
b) Enter your mobile phone number - use numbers only
c) Enter a 4 - 6 digit security code of your choice. The code has to match
the codes on your family members phones
d) Click on the Save button
Family on your phone works with Family on your family's phone to take advantage of
SMS, GPS, Google Maps, and the Android touch screen to provide information about your
family's location in vibrant color.
Setting Up Family
1. Icon
Click on the Family launch icon on your phone - the red star - to start the
application.
2. Eula
Read the EULA and click the Accept button to accept the End User
License Agreement.
3. Start
Click the start button on the start screen to start configuring Family, or
click the menu button on the phone and select Contact.
5. Adding Family Members
To add a family member touch the Add button on the Family Member list
screen. This will take you to the Family member contact details screens.
Using Family
1. To use Family
a) Make sure that the requirements are met
b) Make sure that GPS is enabled, and that it can receive a GPS signal
c) Make sure that the phone can receive and send SMS messages
d) Configure Family on your phone and on your family's phones
e) Select the desired family member from the drop down menu
f) Click the Find Family button

2. Wait a few seconds
a) Your phone will send a location request message to your child's phone
b) Your child's phone will obtain a GPS location if possible
c) Your child's phone will return a message with your child's location to
your phone
e) Your child's location will magically appear on a map
f) You can zoom in or out on the map by tapping on the screen
Be patient while waiting for your child's location to appear. It may take time
to send messages back and forth and for your child's phone to obtain a
location
In some cases it takes 5 to 10 seconds
In other cases it takes a few minutes
In some cases it is not possible for the phone to obtain a location,
especially when the child is inside a building, or in an area with
questionable coverage
3. Alerts
To display the location history click the menu button and select Alert:
a) Select the alert that you wish do display
b) Click the Map View button
The screen is empty if no alerts have been received.
On the alert detail screen you can see the following information:
- The name of the child that submitted the alert
- Longitude
- Latitude
- Time the alert was sent
- Location provider - gps or network
- Provider accuracy
4. Alert Modes
To select an alert mode:
a) Select a family member from the drop down menu
b) Click the Find Family button to find the location
c) Enter a value for the radius of the Geofence in yards in the Geofence
field, and click the Geofence button to setup a Geofence at the family
members current location. You will receive an alert when your family
moves outside the Geofence.
d) Enter a value in yards in the Geofence field, and click the Continuous
button to get continuous updates evrytime your family moves by the
specified distance
e) Click the Off button to stop getting location updates from the slected
family member
Only use Continuous mode when frequent position updates are essential,
or when the Geofence distance is relatively high
A very large number of messages could be sent between phones, when
the mode is set to Continuous, the Geofence value is small, and your
family is moving fast.
Example:
You could receive 960 messages in 1 hour when the tracked device is in
a car driving 60 mph and the Geofence value is set to 100

6. Family Member Contact Details
Add the contact details for your family member.
a) Enter the name
b) Enter their mobile phone number - use numbers only
c) Click on the Save button
Note
If you are configuring your family's devices the Your Name and Your
Number fields on their devices refers to their name and number, and not
your name and number.
Your name and number should be entered on their phone on the Add
Family Member screen.
